About Suzanne Barrett
After working twenty-five years for a major defense contractor, I left engineering to write full time. A short time later, I sold my first book.
Since then, I've sold a novella and two more books, and I have lots of ideas for additional stories. Now I really do have the best of both worlds: a home in the country and a job that lets me go to work in my bathrobe! I still enjoy travel, gardening, cookery, stamp collecting, antique restoration, Celtic and Renaissance music, playing the guitar, correspondence with pen pals, and helping my husband with his wild bird photography but all my hobbies have gone on hiatus while I rush to meet deadlines. Perhaps someday ...
I've lived in Northern California's Coastal mountains nearly twenty-five years. It's a wonderfully inspiring location and the setting for four of my books. Evenings find me at my computer, a cup of Earl Grey within easy reach, a sleeping cat at my feet, doing what I love best--creating stories of warmth and passion. My motto is "Don't wait for something; make it happen."
Using my love of Ireland and travel experiences, I decided to create a website where I could offer travel features and tips to help enrich peoples' vacation itineraries. For over four years, I was the About.com Ireland for Visitors Guide. When my site (and 300 others) was axed in late September 2001, I decided to continue providing this service for people, hence this site. I will be uploading new and evergreen features as time permits, so drop in regularly to see what's new. I'll be adding content-rich features on a broad range of Irish interests, a photo gallery, travel tips and more. Sign up to receive my free newsletter or join the friendly folks on the AlI Ireland Forum. Come share an Irish adventure with me.
